Natural Collection Pressed Powder in Cool Review |
I am something of a face powder enthusiast and go through the stuff at an alarmingly fast rate. As an oily / combination skinned girl, I have no problems obtaining that dewy look as it happens quite naturally to my skin throughout the day. But what I do find to be a problem is keeping that ‘dewiness’ under control without the aid of a fair dusting of a mattifying face powder.
This Boots Natural Collection Pressed Powder in Cool is one of the best super budget friendly pressed powders I’ve come across in a long time and in this post, I’ll be revealing why I think it’s so good!
The basics at a glance:
Packaging: Round plastic pot with clear plastic screw lid
Designed for: The face
Consistency: Pressed powder
Scent: Talc
Price: £1.99
Available from: Boots
Product Description: “Natural Collection Pressed Powder has been designed primarily to reduce shine on your skin’s surface. It sets skin and finishes faces without adding colour or texture”

Review I Natural Collection Pressed Powder in Cool |
The packaging as a whole is simple yet effective and the clear lid with the natural collection logo printed on makes the product look neat and pretty. It’s a slightly different design to the usual mirrored powder compact as it’s missing a mirror and doesn’t have a flip lid but the packaging is sturdy and does keep the product secure. You get 10 g of product which is fairly average for pressed powders. As this is a fragrance free, talc based product, there is no added perfume but the natural talc scent is perceptible. Like all Natural Collection products, this is dermatologically tested.
This powder is available in three shades based on skin tone: Cool, Neutral and Warm. This is something I really like about this product. I have pale, cool toned skin so I find that many pressed powders show up as orange or too dark on my skin. But not this one! It’s a really good match for my skin colour and tone which is rare for a such budget product.
I find that this does set foundation well and visibly reduces shine on the surface of my skin. It also helps to extend the wear time of my foundation and keep my skin looking matter for longer. I like to apply this all over my face with a big fluffy powder brush and I find that the consistency can be a little chalky at times but the powder itself is actually quite well pressed and finely milled. I would say that this does create a powdered look on the skin which can make the finish a little less flawless and natural looking. But for me it’s not a problem as once my oils start breaking through again, my skin starts to look a lot more natural. I can’t say I particularly notice this powder adding any colour or coverage to my skin but I don’t think I could accurately describe it as translucent either.
I’ve no doubt that there are better powders available than this one. In fact, I think the Boots 17 Miracle Matte Pressed Powder is far better product (review coming soon…!) But it’s important to remember that although that one retails at £3.99 which is still very budget orientated, it’s still twice the price of this Natural Collection one at only £1.99!
This Natural Collection pressed powder might not be the best powder around but considering it’s price and performance, it is certainly one of the best pressed powders I’ve ever tried. It will be repurchased often! As I said at the beginning of this post, I do get through a lot of pressed powder and therefore I do appreciate some of the less costly options out there!
I also recently reviewed the Boots Natural Collection Blush in Pink Cloud which you can read here. All Natural Collection make up products are on a continuous offer priced at 3 for £5 which is a pretty good deal plus you get the usual 4 points per £1 if you have an Advantage Card!
Have you tried anything from Natural Collection before?

I bought this powder when I went to stay at my other half's but forgot to pack my setting powder. I must admit I was very impressed with how it performed considering how affordable it was. I also found the shade to work so, so well with my skin tone 🙂 Raspberrykiss xo
This is a great budget buy. I've used it in the past and it does a great job. Though I'm currently using the Seventeen Miracle Matte one and agree it's better! http://lardygrub.blogspot.co.uk/
Super affordable, sounds lovely for the price!
