Car boot sale season may be nearing the end for this year but you really wouldn’t know that judging by today’s beautiful weather and impressive turnout. Once again, buyers and sellers were up early and the car boot sale was absolutely booming this morning.
I managed to pick up some lovely makeup bits today which I was super pleased about and a lot of the items I purchased were not only current makeup releases but also brand new and sealed which is always a massive bonus.
Maybelline Dream Pure BB 8-in-1 BB Cream in Light, Super Stay 14hr Lipstick in Always Plum 260 & Revlon Colorstay Smoky Shadow Stick in 205 Atomic |
I got all of these three makeup items for £1.
Maybelline Dream Pure BB 8-in-1 BB Cream in Light RRP £6.99 Boots
This is something I’m really excited about as I’ve only tried one other BB cream before which was the one from MUA and although it was nice, it didn’t massively wow me so I can’t wait to see what this one is like. It’s actually in the shade light which is perfect for me and it’s designed for oily skin. My skin type is combination but I do often like to use oil free face products designed for oily skin as I find these usually last much better on my skin throughout the day.
Maybelline Super Stay 14hr Lipstick in Always Plum 260 RRP £6.99 Boots
The packaging looks more like a gloss but this is actually a lipstick which claims to have 14 hours wear time. I shall be putting this to the test and I doubt that it will last anything like that long but it still sounds like a promising product and the Plum colour is spot on for Autumn.
Revlon Colorstay Smoky Shadow Stick in 205 Atomic RRP £5.99 Superdrug
I don’t normally like these kinds of cream shadow sticks as I find that they don’t last that long or have great colour pay-off but this one from the Revlon Colorstay line should be one of the best around for longevity and pigmentation. I have high hopes for this!
Avon True Colour Eyeshadow Duo in the shade Enchanted Forest |
Avon True Colour Eyeshadow Duo in the shade Enchanted Forest
I picked up this Avon True Colour eyeshadow duo which retails for £6.00 from Avon and I picked this up for a mere £0.20p. This is a nice little mirrored compact which is always handy and the eyeshadow is velvety soft and pigmented. It’s practically new so I’ll just sanitize this with a quick spray of Isopropyl Alcohol and it’ll be almost as good as new again!
OPI Nail Polish in Wocka Wocka, Sally Hansen Color Wear Maximum Adhesion Base Coat & L’Oreal Paris Color Rich Nail Polish Femme Fatale 403 |
I got these three nail polishes for £1.
OPI Nail Polish in Wocka Wocka from the 2011 Muppets Holiday Collection
This is almost three years old but it’s a genuine OPI nail polish and since nail polish is packed with all kinds of chemicals and preservatives, it can last for ages and ages so I’m happy with this. The consistency actually seems to still be very good and whenever a nail polish starts to get thick or gloopy, it can always be revived with a little drop or two of nail polish remover.
Sally Hansen Color Wear Maximum Adhesion Base Coat
This is a interesting product as I don’t have any other base coat products at the moment so this will be a nice one to try. I often find that when my nail polish chips or peels, it takes a layer of my actual fingernail with it so I’ll be interested to see if this can help with that problem.
L’Oreal Paris Color Rich Nail Polish Femme Fatale 403 RRP £4.99 Superdrug
This nail polish is a current release and is sold in a lot of places for around £5 so this was a bit of a bargain as far as I’m concerned! This is a popular nail polish line although I must say that I think the L’Oreal nail polishes are ridiculously small for a full size product!
If you read my last car boot booty post (here), you may have seen me mention a mini strawberry Body Shop gift set that I picked up for £0.40p but forgot to photograph. So, as I promised, here is a photo of that little gift set I got from the last car boot sale.
