Large Jar Christmas Yankee Candle Dupe
Most of us don’t have money to burn yet buying expensive candles can almost seem like we’re doing just that! A Yankee candle can make a wonderful treat but at this time of year, I like to burn scented candles quite regularly. I need something a little more economical than Yankees and I’ve found just the thing! This large jar scented Yankee candle dupe is only £2.99.
I bought this from one of my all-time favorite discount retailers: Homebargains.
Wickford & Co Mulled Wine Candle
There are usually a variety of fragrances to choose from including some seasonal options. I picked up the mulled wine fragrance this time. I have also used and love the Wickford & Co Gingerbread Candle. If you just can’t resist a good Yankee Candle or two over Christmas, you can see my in-depth review of the 2018 Holiday Sparkle Collection here.
This candle smells lovely and although it’s not a super strong fragrance, it is enough to give a lovely delicate aroma. It burns down fairly evenly which helps to maximize it’s lifespan. I’ve found that it’s important to burn these big jar type candles for a good few hours at any one time but for no more than around four hours. It’s important that they don’t get too hot and can burn down more evenly.
There is some sooting around the rim of the jar but keeping the wick trimmed to between 1/8 and 1/4 of an inch helps to minimize this.
The jars are very strong with an air tight lid. They’re reusable for a variety of different purposes after the candle has been used up.
A Viable Cheaper Alternative to Yankee
This Wickford & Co Mulled Wine Large Jar Yankee candle dupe lasts a long time and I would really recommend giving one of these a try as they’re very inexpensive so you don’t have a lot to lose. This candle still feels special and is very enjoyable to burn. The festive Mulled Wine fragrance is definitely one I will repurchase again a little closer to Christmas.

Have you tried found any Yankie Candle dupes?
I'm so gutted I don't have a home bargains local to me 🙁 My most local is 2+ buses away and I know if I go to one there's no way I'd get all my buys back on a bus :'( x
I was only at Home Bargains yesterday. I had no idea they sold these, otherwise I would have got one. But on the other hand it is the perfect excuse to go back!

This is a great post. I've started collecting yankee candles but it's getting expensive so I like finding new candles to try for a cheaper price. xxx
