Ogx Thick & Full + Biotin & Collagen Shampoo
Professional salon shampoos are usually brilliant but can we obtain that same kind of quality with a high street, budget friendly alternative?
Ogx is a brand that’s recognisable for it’s salon formulas and a lot of my recent favorite haircare products have been from them brand.
Big hair? Yes, please!
I didn’t expect this Ogx Thick & Full + Biotin & Collagen Shampoo to have much of a volumizing effect on my hair. Firstly, to get the best effect I would need to use the full product range and I only have the shampoo. Secondly, I’ve literally shed copious amounts of hair straight from the root for years leaving me with less hair than ever before. I guess that I must have got less than half the amount of hair that I used to have. My hairdressers all used to comment on the thickness of my previous hair and now they comment on the thinness of it!
My current hair situation will present a tough challenge for any volumising product because ‘thick’ and ‘full’ are not two words you would associate with my hair these days! Bearing all of this in mind, I’m pleasantly surprised to see that this shampoo does create a noticeable increase in volume that’s particularly noticeable at the roots.
Volume at the expense of condition? No thanks!
Volumising products can be hard on hair as they tend to rough it up and dry it out to create the desired (illusion) of fullness. This leaves my hair smooth with just a slight unruly coarseness towards the ends. I think it could be a little drying when used daily but if like me, you only wash your hair a few times a week, it shouldn’t be a problem. Otherwise, I’d recommend alternating this with a conditioning shampoo.
One of the best things about the Ogx Thick & Full + Biotin & Collagen Shampoo is that it has a thick consistency and works up a satisfying lather.
SLS / Sulfate Free
Sulfates generally create the bubbles and foam so it’s great this shampoo has a good lather without the inclusion of SLS. Sulfate free shampoos are generally gentler and less drying, making them a good choice for coloured hair as they tend to strip away less of the dye. Sulfate free shampoos are also a good choice if you suffer from any scalp issues to as they will likely cause less irritation. This is also paraben free which is great news for people who try to avoid chemical preservatives.
Scentsational!
Another thing I like about this shampoo is it has a lovely, delicate fragrance that I would describe as a mix of vanilla, lavender and musk. I’ve actually noticed that everything I’ve tried from Ogx so far smells great and I do really enjoy using great smelling hair care products!
Ingredients
The key ingredients are biotin and collagen: Biotin (or vitamin B7) is an essential vitamin needed to metabolize macronutrients and collagen is a structural protein that’s well-known for plumping things up! Perhaps these are a winning haircare combination?
I bought this mini Ogx Thick & Full + Biotin & Collagen Shampoo from Asda who sell a big choice of Ogx products and regularly have half price offers on across the range.
What haircare brands / products have you been loving lately?

You can buy biotin capsules for hair growth too, I’ve always found that anything volumising can be drying for the hair too but a good conditioner always seems to balance it out.
Great post <3

Oooh, the Biotin Capsules sound appealing to me! I couldn’t agree more about conditioner; I love a deep conditioning hair mask to balance things out. Especially since I just dyed my hair electric purple! It needs all the conditioner it can get right now! lol
Thanks for commenting and have a great weekend 🙂
