Budget Beauty Dupes
Budget Beauty Dupes are everywhere these days to cater for the uptick in savvy shoppers. As a result, quite a few budget makeup brands have grown in popularity, becoming well loved for their quality and affordability.
Skincare products do present a more contentious and divisive budget beauty dilemma; even the most confident of savvy shoppers can feel conflicted.
I’ve noticed that people tend to be more selective over their choice of skincare compared to their choice of makeup.
Maybe that’s because skincare is supposed to provide beauty enhancing properties over the longer term. Whereas makeup is purely cosmetic; offering little in the way of therapeutic skincare.
Call me cynical, but it’s logical to think that because makeup and skincare both get slapped on your face, there is some parity between them. If you’re willing to do cheap makeup; why not see about trying out some cheap skincare too?!

Makeup vs Skincare
If you’re somebody who uses budget makeup but wouldn’t touch budget skincare, I do understand why it’s easy to feel dubious about buying budget beauty dupes.
I’d love to get more people interested in exploring skincare orientated budget beauty dupes because I love to help people save money!
Personally, I’m always willing to try out budget beauty dupes and cheap beauty stuff. In fact, just think of me as a human Guinea pig if you like!
Budget Beauty Dupes: Savvy Skincare
I’ve got a little list together featuring some of the newest budget beauty dupes in skincare.
These all look very promising and have caught my eye because they might be good budget beauty dupes for the pricier products.
Derma V10 Clay Masks
These three Derma V10 Clay Masks are duped of the L’Oreal Pure Clay Masks.
The L’Oreal Masks retail for £7.99. These Derma V10 ones are only £1.99. They both contain 50ml and that’s enough for 10 applications.
There are three masks in both the L’Oreal and Derma V10 ranges. The most popular one from the L’Oreal range is probably the grey one: the Detoxing clay mask.
Just like the L’Oreal one, the Derma V10 Detoxing mask has Vitamin E and Honey to help nourish, smooth and moisture your Skin. It’s also suitable for Vegetarians which is a bonus.
I think that the Derma V10 Clay Masks look like a viable budget option. £7.99 for a 10 use L’Oreal face mask is a luxury that undoubtedly some people can’t afford. £1.99 is a far more accessible price point and one could even buy all 3 Derma V10 masks and still have money left over for the same price of just one L’Oreal mask. Given how comparable these products appear, I’ll choose the Derma V10 masks over the L’Oreal masks.
Aldi Lacura Exfoliationg Mud Mask
This isn’t a new product release; it’s been around for a while. But like a lot of Aldi’s most popular products, it’s often sold out.
Aldi’s Lacura Exfoliating Mud Mask closely resembles the Glam Glow Youthmud TingleExfoliate Treatment. Packaging-wise, it’s obvious that the two products are very similar: The Aldi Lacura mask even comes in a similarly luxurious glass jar!
The biggest obvious variation is probably that of price: The Glam Glow mask retails at £42 for 50ml whereas Aldi’s Lacura mask is only £5.99 for 50ml. That’s a whopping £36 less or 86% cheaper!
Both of these masks are fast drying clay masks best suited to use on normal to oily skin. They tackle large pores and exfoliate with natural micro exfoliating particles to reveal a healthier layer of brighter skin.
Lacura’s Mud Mask has just over 20 ingredients and the Glamglow Youthmud has just over 30. They both have some of the same ingredienta listed such as Kaolin which is a clay mineral and Green Tea which is a beverage turned all-round wonder ingredient!
Poundland’s Perfect #6 Range
This is Poundland’s new anti-aging skincare line. I think it’s clearly positioned itself as a dupe for the Boots No. 7 protect and perfect skincare range.
While £1.00 skincare is nothing new, what makes this Poundshop offering stand out is that it is a 6 product collection with anti aging properties.
The Perfect #6: A six-piece skincare collection
200ml Micellar Water: Micellar Water is a good thing to have on hand especially when a second cleanse is needed to get off all of that stubborn makeup residue!
15ml Anti-ageing Derma Serum: This contains Sepilift peptide alongside Jojoba Oil and Vitamins A, C and E.
15ml Anti-ageing Eye Cream: Has Collagen, Ceramides and Algae Extract. I think this might be a good one.
15ml Anti-ageing Collagen Filler: This also has Collagen and Algae Extract in with the addition of Hyaluronic Acid and Shea butter. This is probably my pick of the six products as its got excellent anti-ageing ingredients.
50ml Anti-aging Day Cream: This has some impressive ingredients including Collagen, Ceramides, Sweet Almond Oil, Algae Extract as well as Vitamin A and E. It does however, lack the inclusion of SPF protection.
50ml Anti-aging Night Cream: This looks to have much the same ingredients as the day cream but with extra vitamins in the form of Vitamin B5. This is likely a richer formula than the day cream.
My thoughts…
I’m actually quite excited about this range. I think that the serums in particular sound promising. I also think that using the complete range may confer greater benefits than using just one or two of the products. I’d love to see how well the serums would work to boost the face creams when layered underneath!
I am a little disheartened by the lack of cleansing options. Micellar water can be fairly basic so I would have got way more excited over a cleansing balm or oil. Even a more traditional creamy hot cloth cleanser would have been nice… Maybe I’m just expecting far too much from this Poundshop product range now!
