Dark, evocative and intense: This Sally Hansen Night Watch Nail Polish is a great choice for this time of year. It’s an appropriate shade for both Halloween and Bonfire night.

Sally Hansen Night Watch Nail Polish From the 2013 Prabal Gurung ‘Rent the Runway’ Collection
This Sally Hansen Night Watch nail polish in the Shade 674 (Or shade number 832 in some countries) is from the Prabal Gurung ‘Rent the Runway’ collection that dropped back in Autumn / Fall of 2013. The collection was part of a collaboration between influential Nepalese fashion designer Prabal Gurung and Sally Hansen that was heavily inspired by the urban trend and warrior looks that were very popular on both fashion runways and the high street at the time.
I make 98% of my collection in New York City and am generating jobs, so fashion isn’t just frivolous for me… I also understand the depth of it.
Prabal Gurung
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure ‘Rent the Runway’.
One of the unique selling points behind these
There were also two other three-piece designer and Sally Hansen collaborative collections that came out at the same time as the one with Prabal Gurung. They were a collection that featured Rodarte and another one that featured Tracy Reese.
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Shades and Swatch
There are three shades in this Autumn / Fall 2013 Sally Hansen and Prabal Gurung collaborative collection. The shade Coat of Arms is a metallised foil effect light silver shade with a pewter edge. Loden Green is more of a creamy olive green with hints of military-inspired Khaki and the one I have here is this lovely dark, inky navy shade with a simple cream finish called Night Watch.
Sally Hansen’s Night Watch has a hint of indigo and purple but mostly leans towards a black undertone which is brilliant considering the name is Night Watch so the darker, vampy edge is definitely warranted. One of the nice things about each of these three-piece fashion designer inspired Sally Hansen nail polish collections is that all of the shades mix and match really well making them ideal combinations to use for creating nail art designs.
Sally Hansen Night Watch Nail Polish Pigmentation and Opacity
The pigmentation is great on this Sally Hansen Night Watch nail polish just like with all of the other nail polishes I’ve ever tried in the Salon Manicure range. This beautiful inky, navy blue cream shade is opaque in two coats and it looks slightly darker on the nail than it does in the bottle.
Sally Hansen Night Watch Nail Polish Alternatives
If you’re looking for dupes or other nail polishes shades to reference, I would say that shade-wise, this Sally Hansen Night Watch Nail Polish is most similar to Essie After School Boy Blazer, although perhaps not quite as deep. For a higher end dupe, it’s comparable to OPI’s I saw… U Saw… We Saw… and for a lower end dupe, it’s comparable to Collection’s Work The Colour in Shade 14 Deep Blue Sea.
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Formulation
The Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Polish formulation is actually one of my all-time favourites on account of how well it performs across multiple areas of importance and that’s a reflection of its quality.
Considering the affordability of the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Nail Polish range only makes the quality of the formula seem all the more impressive. The range usually retails for around $7.99 in the US and around £7.99 in the UK making it comparable price-wise to Essie.
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Ingredients
Just like another one of my all-time favourite and affordable Nail Polish brands Sinful Colours, all of the polishes in the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure product line are 5-free. This means they’re free from formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP, Formaldehyde Resin and Camphor. Also, just like almost all of the other nail polishes ever produced by Sally Hansen, the complete salon manicure nail polish range contains ingredients to help promote the health and particularly the strength of nails.
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure: All in One Nail Polish
Another really good part of the Sally Hansen complete salon manicure nail polish formula is that it’s designed to be a three in one a hint so that includes a base coat, colour coat and a top coat all in one nail polish. The formula even includes strengthening and growth treatment properties which is fantastic because I am so impatient and always have problems waiting for each layer to dry before
It can be quite a time-consuming process to apply at least three different kinds of polish including two layers of colour polish and maybe even a nail treatment product or two! There’s little wonder I often end up skipping at least one or two steps in order to save time, so having everything I could need in a single product is brilliant.
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Wear Time
The Complete Salon Manicure range has a robust and chip resistant formula, lasting up to 10 days on the nail. I have to say that one of the things I love most about this Sally Hansen nail polish formulation is the fact that I do find it lasts a very long time on the nails but sadly nowhere near 10 days for me personally! Usually, I do get a good 4 or 5 days out of it though which is very good for a heavy-handed girl like me!
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Packaging
The Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure nail polish range bottles are made with a thick, weighty glass and they have a beautifully elongated silver lid with a rubberized grip around the base which is very handy for opening the bottle and gripping the brush when applying the nail polish.
Meanwhile, the brush itself is wide and flat in a similar style to the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri nail polish range. It even has a slight curve at the tip meaning it’s shaped to fit the natural nail and cuticle contours brilliantly. The bristles on the brush are a little bit stiff so a light hand is best when applying and to ensure each layer is properly dry before applying another so that it doesn’t get streaky. However, the brush really does do a good job of distributing the polish evenly across the nail.
Final Thoughts…
It’s safe to say I love this nail polish and I’ll be sporting it on my nails a lot throughout this Autumn/Winter season.

Hi Gemma!
Sally Hansen are definitely a great choice for affordable nail polish and the complete salon manicure formula is my favourite one from them.
Thanks for stopping by! x
I haven’t even HEARD of Sally Hansen (shows how much I know about beauty haha!) but this looks and sounds pretty perfect 🙂 xxx
Hi Jenny!
In that case, I’m happy to have been able to introduce you to the brand!
Sally Hansen have been around for what feels like forever but I think the brand is actually better known in the US.
In the UK, I think it’s popular among ‘ladies of a certain age’! Somewhat younger people like ourselves tend to go for the trendier brands like Essie.
I love Sally Hansen nail polish and always have done but I’m an old lady at heart so what can I say?! Haha
Thanks for dropping by and leaving me a comment!

I love how detailed your review is Hanna! This is a beautiful color I would totally wear it 😍
