Welcome to part two of my Christmas blog post ideas miniseries.
Happy November everyone! Can you believe that Christmas will be here in less than two months time and then we will be heading into the year 2019?!
If you want to end 2018 with a blogging bang and get a Christmas theme going on your blog but aren’t sure what to blog about, I’m here to help you out!
I want to offer you a little bit of inspiration and a few ideas for festive content. I have another five festive blog post topics for you to consider blogging about over this yuletide season. Hopefully, I can save you hours of brainstorming ideas so that you can focus on creating more excellent content for your readers to enjoy, especially if you’re doing Blogmas this year.
I want all bloggers, in any niche, to be able to find something useful and relevant among these ideas. I’ve tried to make my chosen topics broad and inclusive enough for most bloggers to relate to. I hope you see something here that sparks your imagination and inspires you to get writing awesome Christmas content.
You can see part one of my Festive themed blog post ideas here and the third and final instalment of this Christmas blog post ideas series here.
You can always let me know if you use any of these ideas on your blog and I promise that I will pop over and give your post some love!
If you want to start planning your Christmas content right now, I have some free planning resources to available to help organise your festive blog posts. You can check out and easily download my free Christmas blog planner printables here.
So, without further ado, here is my second post with five new Christmas blog post ideas for you to enjoy.
Christmas Eve & Christmas Morning Traditions
What kind of Christmas Eve do you like to have and what things do you usually like to do? Maybe you like to open a present or two, pop on some new christmas pajamas and leave milk & cookies for santa maybe with a cheeky little carrot for Rudolf?
Do you like to have a warm, cosy early night and get ready to wake up early on Christmas morning? Or maybe you’re just too excited to sleep! Maybe you’re intentionally planning on staying up to atttend Midnight Mass? Or are you usually out on the town, partying it up and getting into the Christmas spirit with a few spirits?
The same kind of questions go for Christmas Morning too. Are you up bright and early or do you have to drag yourself out of bed while feeling a little bit worse for wear as a result of the night before? Do you have any unusual traditions or interesting ways of doing things?
All of this Christmassy chit chat is charmingly festive and I for one would love to read all about your take on popular and less popular Christmas traditions.
Festive Days Out: Things To Do & Places To Go
Even amid the bleakness of midwinter, Christmas markets can make for a bright festive outing that doubles up as Christmas shopping too.
If you’re a history buff, lot’s of historic homes, houses and places of interest have special Christmas events going on around this time of year and of course, there are Santa’s grottos popping up all over the place for the little ones to enjoy.
If you fancy burning off some of that excited Christmas energy, you could get your body moving with a festive activity like Ice Skating or just have some casual fun at the bowling alley!
There’s a wealth of cultural persuits such as shows, concerts and conventions to attend at Christmas time too.
Or how about a pantomime? Oh, no you don’t! Oh, yes I do! (Love a good pantomime that is!)
Christmas Decor & Handmade DIY Decorations
There’s really no end of potential for possible crafty blog posts here. There’s something so lovely about rustic and homemade Christmas decorations, especially when children have been involved in creating them because they’re just so creative and make the most imaginatively cute decor.
Personally, I prefer easy to make decorations like colourful paper chains but there are far more complex decorations to have a go at if you feel up to the task and have some time to spare. It’s also a great excuse to get really hands-on and creative with loads glitter and sparkles! I don’t know about you but playing with glitter, glue and coloured paper still gets me all excited and feeling like a big kid!
Festive Party Makeup Look or How-To
Christmas is the time to be merry and bright and… extremely sociable! Forget hermitting it up at home Bridget Jones style, your calendar is probably bursting at the seams with more social engagements and parties than you can shake a glow stick at. If you’re going to act every bit the ‘it girl socialite’ by partying it up practically every day, you may as well look the part too! Glamour with a side of Glitz is definitely top of the Christmas makeup menu.
All of those glitter eyeshadows and bright red lipsticks can finally come out of hiding in the recesses of your makeup collection because it’s their time to help you shine! You can even pick a Christmas makeup or beauty product to review, just like I reviewed this amazing budget-freindly cranberry and chocolate bath and body gel here.
Have fun, inspire and be inspired! This is a great one for the makeup artsy types among us, amateurs and professionals alike. Please don’t feel that you can’t participate in sharing makeup tutorials and looks unless they’re Instagram worthy and Pinterest perfect because that’s just not a realistic standard for a lot of us to aim for who aren’t professional MUAs and models!
Reminder: you do you! Blogging can be both aspirational and/or relatable. Take your pick of whatever but always be yourself and value what you have to offer.
You can see a party-perfect makeup free gift with purchase that I blogged about here or you can see a Taylor Swift inspired red lip tutorial I created here.
Festive Fashion & Party Clothes
This is a pretty self explanatory Christmas blog post idea that is more within the fashion / lifestyle blogging niche but there’s really nothing stopping anyone from getting a slice of the festive fashion frolics and fun!
You can share your favourite outfits in an outfit of the day post or you can create look books with your favourite festive wardrobe pieces. You could showcase some of the nicest items you’ve spotted in the shops right now. You could even offer advice about how to dress for your shape of offer gereal style advice. You could create outfits according to price by putting together a outfits for a range of budgets such as £30, £60, £100 and £250. If your more a onsie kinda girl or guy, you could blog about your onsie collection or make a onsie wishlist. How about fashion accessories…the list is endless in the huge category with tons of festive things to blig about.
Phew! That’s it for part two guys!

I love your free printables, they are so organized and well laid out and cute!!! I love the idea of a post to write about places to go (although I don’t know too much myself… I’m thinking I wanna take a trip to an ice castle in a nearby state but I shall see!) and DIY Decorations!! Thank you so much for these ideas Hanna :))
Thank you so much Geraldine! All of your continued support and encouragement means the world to me! 💜 That Ice Castle you mentioned sounds incredible – might have to see if there’s anything at all like that near me. I know in some countries you can even find hotels to stay in that are made entirely of ice! DIY Decorations sure are a lot of fun to have a go at making!! Have a great weekend! 😁

those are some terrific ideas. i wish pantos were popular in the US 😦
Joy at The Joyous Living
Oh no you don’t! Oh yes you do! Haha Sorry, couldn’t resist!
That is a shame though, I wonder if Pantos are more of a quirky British thing then? I think US humour in general is usually more refined whereas British humour is often quite loud and ‘in your face’. Hope you can find some pantos to watch online at the very least. All the best,
Hanna x
pantos are definitely more a british thing but then again i like quirky british humor 😉
Great post!! You have a ton of great ideas, and your printables are so cute! I’m thining of trying out Blogmas this year, so I’ll defintely check out your posts for more post ideas. Thanks!

Hi Lisa! That’s so true – things do change and sometimes it’s lovely to experience a new perspective. And yes, kids do change everything, forever! Christmas is basically made for kids!👌 Hanna x
I do love Christmas themed posts and think I will definitely try to upload a festive makeup look on my blog. Great post and ideas. Thank you for sharing! This will help motivate me to blog in December instead of sipping mulled wine and eating minced pies, have a great week x
