Winter Skincare Minis: Elemis, Orico & M&S

Winter Skincare Minis from Elemis, Orico & M&S

This time of year, around Autumn and Winter, is often when our skin becomes the driest of the year. I’ve already found myself instinctively reaching for this nourishing selection Winter skincare minis. So far, so good as I haven’t suffered from any weather-related dry skin issues yet. But that will probably change as we get deeper into Winter… But I will be fighting the flaky skin every step of the way with my small army of skincare weapons!

Skincare is so important because it makes us feel more confident without makeup and it can help to create an even base so our makeup looks the best it can when applied on top. I’m learning more than ever to not underestimate the importance of good skincare, especially during the colder months of the year. That’s one of the reasons why I have been appreciating these Winter skincare minis which I found hidden amongst my little skincare stash at home.

Winter Skincare Minis: Elemis Hydra-Nourish In-Flight Cream, Orico Superico Face Oil and M&S Formula Absolute Sleep Cream.

Winter Skincare Minis Perfect for Cold Weather

I highly recommend ‘shopping your stash’ at home by taking a look at what products you already own and that could work wonders for your skincare routine right now! Since a lot of us change things up seasonally, who knows what little gems you may have forgotten about. Mini products like these are easily misplaced or overlooked, so now is a great time to get out any smaller samples that you want to trial. It’s also worth thinking about products that may have seemed too heavy during Summer but that may be just right for you during Winter.

Winter Skincare Minis: Elemis Hydra-Nourish In-Flight Cream, Orico Superico Face Oil and M&S Formula Absolute Sleep Cream.

Elemis Hydra-Nourish in-flight Cream, 7ml

Directions: Apply to cleansed skin, massaging lightly with fingertips.

This is a rich facial moisturiser designed for use during flights. We all know what flying can do to our skin and how drying recirculated air can be so this cream is ideal for general Winter use too. It protects from the elements with an emollient layer while hydrating the skin. This product has made me want to try out more skincare from Elemis as I like intensive facial moisturisers like this one and the Organic Surge Super-Intensive Daily Moisturiser.

Certified Cruelty-Free Skincare

Orico Superico Vitamin Rich Face Oil, 10ml

Directions: Apply morning and evening. Lightly massage all over the face and neck. breathe deeply for the aromatherapy benefits.

This is a luxurious and light vitamin enriched facial oil that hydrates and nourishes skin. I think this oil is ridiculously expensive at almost £10.00 for a tiny 10ml size. It absorbs very quickly and has loads of high-quality, natural ingredients. The herbal fragrance results from all the various oils combined into this one oil and it isn’t overpowering but it is quite therapeutic.

This certified cruelty-free facial oil could be one to potentially consider trying if you want to splash some cash on a new Winter skincare mini face oil like this or just go all-out and buy the full-size at £29.00 for 30ml. All I can say in defence of the price is that a little bit does go a long way, so its quite cost-effective in the long run. It also does a good job of fighting dry skin and that in itself can be invaluable to some of us at times.

I’m quite into facial oils, especially during Autumn/Winter and I enjoy products like this Suti Nourish Face Oil and Jason Vitamin E Skin Oil.

One of the best things about facial oils is that they can be layered under your usual moisturiser and they’re almost like a booster product for a hit of extra skin hydration when you need it most.

M&S Formula Absolute Ultimate Sleep Cream, 15ml

Directions: Apply each evening to your face, neck and jawline using small upward strokes. Simply rinse when you wake to reveal rested skin.

This Cruelty-Free Formula Absolute Sleep Cream is inspired by Korean skincare and it’s a hybrid facial moisturiser and overnight treatment. This intensive face cream contains peptides and hyaluronic acid, amongst other good stuff. Hyaluronic acid, in particular, is a very hydrating ingredient being able to hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water. This has been such a popular product from M&S over the years too.

When it comes to Winter skincare and combating the tendency towards dry skin that most of us develop during the colder months, I think the old adage of an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of a cure holds very true. Anything we can do to avoid or even just slow down the onset of chapped, flaky skin is valuable because it’s so difficult to get rid of those rough, flaky patches of skin once they’ve started to develop.

Good luck to everyone battling dry skin this Winter – you’ve got this!

Have you tried any of these Winter skincare minis? What’s one of your go-to skincare products at the moment?

  1. I love the phrase “shop your stash” because I know I have things hiding (not just beauty products) just waiting to be found again. I’ve got a No7 moisturiser but it may prove too heavy for summer. For now though, I love it!

    1. Hi, Marie-Celine! It is amazing how we do tend to forget what we already own. Out of sight usually means out of mind too! It’s always good to have a rummage through things and see what we might find at home before hitting the High Street to buy more. Boots No. 7 skincare is lovely, hope you’re enjoying your moisturiser and maybe it will all be gone by Summer anyway! Thanks for visiting and commenting. Hanna x

  2. My skin gets so dry, especially around this time of year. The Elemis cream sounds wonderful! I love sightly thicker, more nourishing creams x

    1. Hi, Sophie! That’s so true! I also think thicker and more intensive moisturisers are the way most of us need to go to fight that dreaded dry skin over Winter! Hanna x

  3. It is so important to remember about our faces at this time of year! My face is unfortunately oily and yet has dry spots which is frustrating! I feel like I have to be careful of what I put on my face cause it might make me glisten and shimmer with oil all day 🤣 but I definitely have to be good with my skincare regimen, I’m not quite happy with mine at the moment. I do have to “shop my stash”, so that nothing goes to waste! 🙂 Thank you Hanna for sharing!

    1. Hi, Geraldine! The complicated combination skin type I can relate to! It’s like having the worst of both worlds! 😂 ‘Shopping your stash’ is really the way to go so that nothing or very little gets wasted. And as a bonus, that surely helps the environment and saves some money too! <3 Hanna x

  4. Wow you really are a beauty saver, my skin has really struggled with the transition into colder weather so i needed this post! Loved it 🙂 x

  5. I loved this post, it’s full of all the skincare inspo! Winter can really take its toll on our skin can’t it? I’ve definitely found my face suffering since it’s gotten so cold and it makes me long for the summer again! I really like the idea of “shopping your stash” at home, it’s amazing how many gems are lying around that we forget about – I know I’m a real devil for this! Trying out minis is such a good idea, the M&S sleep cream sounds so brilliant and you can’t beat Elemis. At the moment I’m really loving the No7 eye cream and the Garnier Moisture Bomb range leaves my skin feeling revitalised and refreshed, thank goodness for face masks! 😀
